What is the Ram-e-Card?
The Ram-e-card will serve not only as your official West Chester University ID card, but will do much more! From food purchases to concert tickets and laundry machines, the e-Card will serve your every need on-campus.
What does the "e" stand for?
The "e" represents the word electronic. The new Ram-e-Card, which will be replacing your existing Ram Card, will allow you to make electronic, cash-free purchases all over campus, while still acting as your University ID card.
How do I get a new card? How much will it cost?
Each student will receive a new Ram-e-Card free of charge. Incoming students will receive their card through orientation; and returning students, faculty, and staff will receive their new cards sometime next fall.
Where can I use the Ram-e-Card?
You can use the new Ram-e-Card at numerous locations on and off-campus, from vending and laundry services in the Residence Halls to all dining locations. The Ram-e-Card will also be used at the SSI Bookstore as well as at the health and fitness centers, and more locations to come!
Can I take money off my Ram-e-Card (like tapping MAC)?
Unfortunately, you will not be able to take money off the e-Card at any time. Due to certain Federal Laws, the Ram-e-Card can only act as a declining balance debit card. You will be able to put as much money on as you would like, but the only way to get money off is to use your card at the many locations on and off-campus. However, if you chose to leave West Chester University at anytime, your money will be refunded to you!
Can anyone put money on my Ram-e-Card?
Yes – There are three ways to add money to your new Ram-e-Card. Each Ram-e-Card user will receive a username and password for the online component that will allow your family or friends to add money at anytime. You can also visit the Ram-e-Card Office, which will be coming next fall, to add money to your account. The e-Card Office will be located on the lower level of Sykes. There will also be the Ram-e-Card Value Transfer Station (or VTS) that will be located across from the e-Card Office, allowing you to add money to your account 24-hours a day.
What is the difference between Ram Flex and Ram Bucks?
Ram Flex represents the food-service component of the e-Card system, which you will be able to us at the different ARAMARK sponsored food-service locations on campus Ram Bucks represents your general account, which can be spent at many locations including the SSI Bookstore, vending and laundry machines, and off-campus vendors. Ram Bucks can be used at the on-campus food-service locations as well.
